United and Feeding America get on board together in the fight against hunger

United’s commitment to service extends beyond aircraft and airports, to the communities where our customers and employees live and work. During Feeding America’s Hunger Action Month, the airline is asking its customers to join the fight to help feed those in need. During September, $1 from the sale of each snack box purchased through United’s Choice Menu Snack Shop will go to Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization.
“Forty-nine million Americans struggle to find their next meal, including nearly 16 million children,” says Todd Traynor-Corey, United’s managing director of food and beverage planning. “We’re working with one of our great community partners to help meet this critical need.”
Through its network of 200 food banks across the country, Feeding America assists more than 46 million people facing hunger each year. With $1, the organization can help provide 10 meals. This year, United aims to raise $150,000, securing 1.5 million meals.
United and its customers have contributed nearly $800,000 over the past six years to support Feeding America’s hunger-relief efforts. The airline’s employees also lend a hand by volunteering at local food banks and pantries.
